Dear Father,
I enclose a letter which ought to have been sent off yesterday.
I have several to acknowledge from Mother & Cecily & some magazines & a cake & shortbread. It looks as though my correspondence will be disjointed while we are in this part of the line, as I am doing adjutant, as there is no room for P. Bye who is running his office in seclusion at the back. Love to all
Jack.
